The Instagram widget is not showing

A missing widget usually comes from the theme app block, the page template, the Instagram connection, or plan access. Check them in that order so you do not rebuild a working setup.

Check the app block

Open Online Store > Themes in Shopify admin.
Customize the published theme.
Open the page template where the widget should appear.
Confirm that an InstaFeedStory app block or app section is present and visible.
Select Save even if the block was added by a deep link.

If the block is missing, return to InstaFeedStory > Home > Your widgets > Add to theme, choose the page type, and save the new block in Shopify's theme editor.

Check the template and widget ID

Products and collections can use different Shopify templates. Confirm that you edited the exact template assigned to the page you are viewing.

For an additional widget, select Copy ID in InstaFeedStory and compare it with the widget ID saved in the theme app block. A missing or different ID can load the main widget instead.

Check Instagram and billing

The Instagram card on Home should say Connected. If it says Reconnect needed, select Reconnect.

Link Shopify products to Instagram posts

Product tags let shoppers move from an Instagram post to the matching Shopify product without searching your catalog. Sell, Growth, and equivalent eligible legacy access can link up to three products to each post.

Link the first product

Open Media from InstaFeedStory's navigation.
Stay on the Posts tab.
Find the Instagram post you want to make shoppable.
Select Link product.
Choose one or more products from Shopify's product picker.
Confirm your selection.
Wait for Updating product tags to finish.

The linked product card shows its image, title, and handle. Select the card to open the product on your storefront and make sure it is available to shoppers.

Add more products

Select Add another product below the existing card. A post can have up to three linked products, and the same product cannot be added twice to one post.

Show products in the widget

Open Home > Your widgets > Edit > Popup and enable Show linked products. Save the widget, then open the post in the storefront preview.

Edit your storefront widget

Each widget has a live editor for its storefront appearance and behavior. You can open it from Home > Your widgets > Edit.

What each editor tab controls

Appearance controls visibility, layout, post shape, carousel behavior, title design, spacing, corners, video autoplay, and the follow button.

Content controls post order, hidden posts, and the story circles shown by that widget.

Popup controls what shoppers see after selecting a post, including the profile name, follow link, caption, and linked products.

Shoutout lets eligible plans add a tappable offer circle with instructions for shoppers.

Additional widgets also include page targeting in Appearance. You can choose a page type and an optional matching part of the page address.

Preview before saving

Use the Desktop and Mobile buttons above the preview. A layout that feels balanced on desktop can need a different number of visible posts on a phone.

The preview is interactive. You can select a post to open its popup or choose the posts area to manage content.

Save your changes

Select Save in the save bar after editing. Wait until the app confirms that the storefront is up to date before closing the editor.

Add your Instagram feed to a Shopify theme

Connecting Instagram gives the app content to display. Adding the app block tells Shopify where that content should appear in your theme.

Add the main feed

Open InstaFeedStory from your Shopify admin.
Find Your widgets on the Home page.
Select Add to theme beside Main feed.
Choose Home page, Product pages, or Collection pages.
Wait for Shopify's theme editor to open with the Instagram feed app block ready.
Move the block to the position you want.
Select Save in Shopify's theme editor.

Your feed is live after Shopify confirms that the theme was saved. Open the storefront preview and select a post to confirm that the widget loads and responds.

Add a specific widget

If your plan includes multiple widgets, InstaFeedStory copies that widget's ID when you use Add to theme. The app block uses the ID to load the correct widget instead of the main feed.

Connect your Instagram account

InstaFeedStory connects to a public Instagram profile by username. You do not need to share your Instagram password or sign in to Instagram through the app.

Before you connect

Make sure the Instagram profile is public and that the username is spelled correctly. Private profiles cannot be connected because their posts are not publicly available.

You can enter a plain username, an @username, or the full Instagram profile URL. The app cleans up the value before connecting it.

Connect the account

Open InstaFeedStory from your Shopify admin.
Select Connect Instagram from the setup guide or the Instagram card on Home.
Enter the Instagram username you want to display.
Select Connect and wait while the first posts, stories, and highlights are collected.

The first posts often begin appearing within a minute. A complete first sync can take a little longer because media is processed in the background.

Once the account is connected, add the widget to your theme. Connecting Instagram supplies the content, but the feed does not appear on your storefront until its app block is saved in Shopify's theme editor.
