How Instagram syncing works

InstaFeedStory checks for new Instagram posts automatically about every 12 hours. The Home page shows when the widget last synced so you can tell whether it is current.

Automatic post updates

New posts arrive without you opening the app. The storefront can continue showing the existing feed while a new sync runs in the background.

The widget displays up to 12 posts. If you have more than 12 Instagram posts, the newest eligible posts fill the feed unless you pinned or hid specific posts.

Request an earlier post refresh

Open Home > Your widgets and select Request a refresh. This opens support with a prepared message so the team can start a forced post sync.

A forced refresh starts background work. New media may need a few minutes to download and process, especially for videos. Refreshing the Shopify storefront repeatedly does not make this background work finish sooner.

Update stories and highlights

Stories and highlights have their own refresh control. Open Media > Stories and select Refresh from Instagram when you need an immediate update.

Live Instagram stories expire after 24 hours. A story that has expired on Instagram will not remain available as a live story in the widget.

Use Delete all & redownload only when a normal story refresh has failed. That action removes the current downloaded story data before fetching it again.
